Family Therapy

Helping families move from disconnection to deeper understanding — one conversation at a time.

Maybe the house feels tense, like everyone’s walking on eggshells.
Maybe no one’s really talking anymore — or when they do, it ends in frustration or shutdown.

You want your family to feel close. You want to understand your teen or young adult, to be there for them, to know how to say the right thing — but the gap between you keeps growing.

When one member of the family is struggling, the whole system feels it.
That’s why I work with families together — to rebuild trust, improve communication, and create more space for connection and growth.

What Is Family Therapy?

Family therapy is a safe, structured space to:

  • Slow down the patterns that keep you stuck

  • Hear each other more clearly

  • Practice new ways of responding to tension or distance

  • Learn how to support each other without losing yourself in the process

Using a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy lens, I help families identify what’s already working — and build from there. We won’t stay stuck in the problem. Instead, we’ll focus on what each person wants to be different, and take practical steps to move toward those goals together.

Family therapy isn’t about blame.
It’s about better understanding, shared goals, and hopeful change.

When to Consider Family Therapy

Family therapy may be helpful if:

  • Your teen or young adult is shutting down or withdrawing from family life

  • Conflict happens often — and feels unresolved

  • Conversations turn into arguments, or silence

  • Parenting feels reactive and disconnected

  • You’re navigating a transition (e.g., divorce, identity exploration, new diagnoses)

  • You want to repair emotional ruptures and rebuild trust

My Approach

I view families as ecosystems: complex, resilient, and deeply connected.
In our sessions, each person’s voice matters. I work to create a space where every member of the family — especially teens and young adults — feels heard and respected.

Depending on your family’s needs, we may meet together, in pairs, or in a combination of sessions. Family therapy can be its own process, or it can work alongside individual therapy and parent coaching.

In every case, we focus on:

  • Clarifying what each person wants to be different

  • Naming shared values and hopes

  • Strengthening communication and emotional safety

  • Practicing new relational tools together in session

Even small changes in how we listen, speak, and respond can create powerful ripples at home.

What You Can Expect

Sessions are structured, but flexible. There’s room for real emotion, repair, and growth — but also humor and lightness when it’s needed.

You can expect:

  • A neutral, affirming presence to guide the conversation

  • Practical tools to use between sessions

  • Space for honest dialogue — without judgment

  • A focus on progress, not perfection

Families Can Heal — Together

No family is perfect. Conflict, disconnection, and emotional distance are all part of being human. But that doesn’t mean things can’t change.

When everyone feels heard, understood, and respected — new possibilities open up.
Family therapy can help you move from power struggles to partnership. From tension to trust. From surviving… to connecting.
