There are several reasons I have chosen to not take insurance:
It takes away time and efficiency working with you as it requires time and energy spent on paperwork and phone calls fighting for your treatment.
It hinders my clinical expertise as insurance can dictate duration and modality of treatment.
It requires a diagnosis at our first meeting which is not always helpful or accurate in the first session as I am just getting to know you.
It can fill up my practice with clients who may be better served by other wonderful practitioners simply because I show up on their insurance panel. This allows me to continue doing great work with clients I truly feel I can help.

I provide a combination of Individual, Family, and Co-Parenting Therapy Sessions. “Family” is identified by you, the client. Therefore, if bestie is practically part of the family and you would like to invite them into one of your sessions, you are more than welcome to. If you are part of a co-parenting team as a step-parent or guardian, as long as the client consents, you are welcome to attend some sessions.
We may choose to do a combination, such as half the session with the individual and half the session with family, or we can schedule family sessions as needed. When I see teens, I typically suggest that I meet with at least one parent once every month or two to check in and see what is improving at home.
