Therapist in Katy, TX
Therapy and counseling for Katy families, teens and young adults. Sessions happen by video, so there is no drive down I-10 and no sitting in a waiting room after school.
What we work on
Counseling in Katy for the things families actually struggle with
Fifteen years of working with young people and the parents trying to hold it together.
-
Teens and young adults
Anxiety, school pressure, motivation that has disappeared, and the sense that everyone else has it worked out.
-
Families under strain
When every conversation at home turns into the same argument, and nobody is really being heard any more.
-
Parents who need support
You are doing everything you can think of and it is not landing. We work on what to do differently.
-
Substance use
Vaping, drinking, or something further along. I am an LCDC, so this is familiar ground rather than a referral out.
How this works for Katy
Counseling in Katy, without the drive
I am based in Houston and licensed across Texas, which means I work with people in Katy the same way I work with everyone else, by video.
For Katy that tends to be the point. Finding a therapist who takes your insurance, has openings, and is worth the drive to the Medical Center is a tall order. Doing it on a weeknight after school or work is a taller one.
Sessions happen from your own room. No Houston traffic, no parking, no waiting room, and no explaining to anyone where you are going.
I work with people in Cinco Ranch, Cross Creek Ranch, Firethorne, Fulshear and the rest of the Katy area, as well as further out across Texas.
Who you would be working with
Meet Allie
I am Allie Haydon, and I have spent fifteen years working with teenagers, young adults and their families. Residential programs, outpatient treatment, alternative peer groups and recovery high schools, so very little comes as a surprise.
I hold three licenses, which is unusual. LPC-S, LMFT-S and LCDC. In practice that means when something sits across counseling, family work and substance use, which is usually where the real difficulty is, we can look at the whole picture rather than the part one license covers.
I am a straight shooter. I will tell you what I actually think rather than what is comfortable to hear, and I use humor when things get heavy.
How it works
Getting started
Three steps, and the first one costs nothing.
-
Get in touch
Tell me roughly what is going on, in as much or as little detail as you want.
-
A short consultation
Fifteen minutes to see whether this feels right. No pressure and no commitment if it does not.
-
Start counseling
We meet by video and start with whatever matters most to you first.
Not sure if this is for you?
Most people are not sure at first. A short conversation costs nothing and you will know quickly if we are the right fit.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
-
For most of what I treat, yes. It also tends to work better with teenagers, who are more willing to talk from their own room than from a chair in an unfamiliar office. If I think you would be better served in person, I will tell you and help you find someone local.
-
Teenagers from around thirteen, young adults, and parents. I also see families together when that is what the situation calls for.
-
I am private pay rather than in network. Sessions are $175 for fifty minutes. I can provide a superbill if your plan offers out of network reimbursement, and it is worth calling your insurer to ask before you decide.
-
Usually within a week or two, depending on availability. Get in touch and I will tell you honestly what I have open rather than put you on a long list.
-
That is fine. I am licensed across Texas, so I work with people in Houston, Sugar Land, Cypress, The Woodlands and anywhere else in the state.
